Let’s Play: Cyberpunk 2077 (PC), Part 9 – Ending (Review)

We’re returning to Night City in Cyberpunk 2077 to finish more side missions before passing the game’s first, “point of no return.” While I think this is more of a first act point of no return, I’m still trying to avoid locking myself out of any interesting game content, especially if it could impact the main story.

Panam Help Ending Timestamp

Wow! And I thought we were just at the end of the first act. I’m still pretty satisfied with how the game ended, and the options available making my ending feel unique. Things kind of escalated a lot quicker than I expected, but this could also be like the kind of denial that V would be feeling towards his own mortality. Additionally, skipping a lot of the side missions and gigs for the sake of time, probably made the transition to the ending feel that much more abrupt.

Either way, I feel like I made all of the “correct” decisions for how I wanted to play my Nomad version of V. Ideally, I would try to do as much as I could for everyone for their “good ending,” but in doing so, sacrificing V for Johnny Silverhand in the end only makes sense if you played without making a significant emotional connection with someone. In our case, we connected with Panam, and I’m glad that it plays out like Jonny understands and accepts this.

I’m definitely interested in playing more of the game to complete my current playthrough, as well as explore alternate playing styles and completing different endings. But for now I think we’re done with Cyberpunk 2077 as a consecutive series. I’m lucky to not have had too many issues with game bugs, but there were enough to knock a whole point or two off of whatever rating score I’d give the game.

While I feel like I have a solid hold on the game play, especially playing on the hardest difficulty, the quality of writing makes me think that there’s enough content left to still improve my overall opinion of the game. But if I had to give a projected score based on my experience thus far, I’d feel comfortable with a solid base score of 7.5 or 8 out of 10. While I think a 10 is out if reach, there’s a slim possibility for a 8.5 or 9 if they nail the rest of the storylines, and somehow fix all the technical issues with the game within the next few months.

Thank you for hanging out with me for this playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. I look forward to streaming and sharing more of it, and other games with you in the future.
