Coffee Stain Studios just released their early access game, Satisfactory, and I’m really excited to play! I never got into currently available open-world, construction, exploration and sand box games. So I’m excited that this game is the one that hooks me, especially with it’s emphasis on production line factory automation.
So far, Satisfactory feels like it has just the right amount of allure for me to sink a lot of time into the game, but not become a complete obsession. The prefabricated structures and instantaneous construction make focusing on automation fun and easy. At least initially there is very little to distract from the fundamentals of the game, and even at the cost of more meticulous immersion, I think it’s worth it.
There’s still a lot of game to discover and explore, and this before the developers finish adding content and refining the overall experience. So whether the game turns into a super complex matrix of chaos, or a simple yet refined zen garden of conveyor belts, I’m excited for what’s next.
