Let’s Play: God of War (PS4) Part 1

Full disclosure, I’ve never played a God of War game, but I’ve watched some of the epic cinematic from the older games in the series. So I’m excited to see how fun the hack-and-slash gameplay is along with the epic boss fights, lore and setting in this latest God of War.

Because this game was so well received, there should be no surprise that I’m also enjoying it. But because this was my first hands on God of War experience, I only have expectations to judge this game against since I lack past experience. So far the game has exceeded my expectations by a large margin.

Based on what I’ve only watched from past God of War titles, I was expecting a Devil May Cry like hack and slash, with larger scale Uncharted like set pieces and a little bit less mobility than the recent Marvel’s Spider-Man. And while some of those elements are there while others aren’t, so far the overall composition of the game sets itself apart from these other games in a very good way. I’m excited to play more.
