It’s time for our first big boss fight in Gears Tactics, and we’re on the “insane” difficulty to boot. As a result things have gotten a lot more interesting, but our progress through the game has slowed to accommodate all the additional strategizing. The bottom line is that I’m having fun and enjoying myself, even if it means it’s going to take forever for me to beat the game.

We’re playing more Gears Tactics to further explore the game’s mechanics, potential and story. My first impressions were surprisingly good, but I’m not sure if my experience is already starting to plateau. We have yet to see a big boss fight, and we have only scratched the surface of the skill trees, so I’m hopeful that the best is yet to come.

While taking a couple days off from streaming, I decided to give XCOM Chimera SquadXCOM Chimera Squad a try. Even though it’s clear Chimera Squad and Gears Tactics were not made with the same intended scope, Gears Tactics is far superior. Despite the history and experience behind the XCOM franchise, I was left craving more Gears Tactics. So, here we are.
